When he dies ...
why do his clothes disappear with him? And where are they when he gets reborn?

shareThey cease to exist. He gets reset. Nothing that didn't exist when he died the first time can survive that, so disappear.
NB: Just a theory, but seems most likely based on the evidence we've seen (the watch survives, and that pre-dated his first death. Nothing else we've seen him with does).

Agreed with previous, although intangible aspects (memories and history of events and relationships) remain.
And... any excess hair on his scalp (apart from a 'choir boy' cut), and facial hair disappears too.
Sometimes I'm really hard at work, other times it's just an act.
Where's the blood? Getting your throat slide requires a lot of blood to die. Do it right (cut the internal and external carotids on one side) and maybe 5 beats. Do it wrong (external jugular(s)) and maybe 10 minutes. But where's the blood?
(Or if you're a sadist, do it right and it might take 10 minutes)
It's a TV show. That's where the blood is. On HBO they show blood. On ABC, etc, you have to imagine it! 'Twas always thus.

Yeah, that makes sense.
shareHis clothes disappear for good after he comes back to life. The only thing that sticks around is Henry's watch.

I remember Abe said that Henry didn't have a driver's license for several decades. So he didn't have to worry about.

I'm guessing he probably had a passport or something like that.

This is a TV show. They can make up any rules they want. People claim to see ghosts wearing clothing, but that doesn't make sense either if ghosts are spirits. On Star Trek different entities walked through walls but didn't have any problem walking ON the floor, not in it. They could also sit on a chair. Their butts weren't etherial? I am not making fun. I am a Star Trek fan. But I am just pointing out that the show is not reality so they can make the rules. In this case Henry's watch keeps appearing. Don't analyze it, it's just entertainment. You seem to have no problem with Henry's returning from the dead which make no sense at all.

Wasn't it said in one episode that every object that isn't made of metal disappears?
shareNo. Nothing has ever been said on the subject. Most likely reason the watch doesn't disappear is because he already had it before he died, whereas everything else vanishes, because it can't be reset to an era when it didn't exist. But that's just theory. The show never covered the subject.
The original script for the pilot had him throwing the watch away before he died, to make sure that it wasn't with him, and ergo didn't disappear with him, but that didn't happen in the show as broadcast, so I assume they decided against it. It wouldn't have worked, obviously, as there's no way he could hope always to have time to empty his pockets before dying!

The entire resetting thing doesn't really make sense either, because if Henry was reset to a point in time before his death it would mean he would come out of the river in the clothes he died in. But I should maybe stop to put that much thought into this show, I liked the premise, the show had some flaws (but what show doesn't have?) and I should stop thinking about those flaws before I stop liking the show.
