I needed to put this show in the back burner and abandoned it because it became mostly a procedural at the time and took to long to get to explaining Morgn's Background
There was another 'eternal' character that was chasing Morgan and setting him up for pitfalls and killing other people if remember correctly; whatever happened to this part of the show... was it resolved?
I may pick up the DVD's if they show up for loan and watch it if there's more of a resolution and don't worry about spoiling it; fire away
I thought it was mostly procedural (well, with a twist) until the final dozen episodes (or so) where they finally started to detail how Henry died, and theories of his and Adam's (the other immortal) immortality, which all ties into the final ep. Also toward the end, Henry, Lucas (the assistant ME, who really steps up his game) and Abe started to investigate the disappearance of Henry's wife (and Abe's mother), further moving from the "death to solve for the week" trope.
The Adam problem was semi-resolved, and not very satisfyingly, but it was as good as could be done in the time they had. I mean, they couldn't kill him, could they? He'd just reincarnate. To make the story short, Adam shoots Henry, and as he dies Henry injects air into Adam's brain stem and paralyzes him. Adam is unable to speak or move and would stay that way until he died. Or at least his mortal form died.
It wasn't perfect, as many pointed out. People in charge of his care would probably notice he didn't age, and that he'd live for years beyond his expectancy and it was probably a cruel way of having to spend years. (Though he probably deserved it.) It didn't really solve the problem permanently, but it would temporarily stop Adam from killing or threatening Henry, Abe, Jo, or anyone else.
Henry dies, then reincarnates. Jo arrives at the crime scene, only to find Henry's Watch and a very old photo showing him at the same age he is now. The last scene of the series, Jo confronts Henry about it, and at Abe's insistence, replies "It's a long story..."
And that's how it ends.
It probably should have gotten a second season, but at least the series ended in a semi-satisfying way...
Thanks, figured the producers never even had a chance explaining how Henry and Adam became the way they are... Paralyzed Adam could try to kill himself by biting his tongue off like Million Dollar Baby
Hate it when a tv show disappears without a decent ending, Revolution, Jericho... Don't want to add this one to the list 😳
Why would he reincarnate? I guess Henry did after he was shot. Adam for some reason thought they would really die with the weapon that made them. I'm glad they showed Henry coming back, I wonder why he did though?
