What a Depressing Movie (Spoilers)

There wasn't really anything redeeming about this film. Depressing with a crappy nowhere ending. When it ended, I was just like, that's it?

No real explanation about the infected at all. They were similar to the ones in I Am Legend, but alittle bit more mutated. And not as smart, just running on instinct.

A few scares that go nowhere. And why bother to have both men exposed to the infected if they aren't going to turn? Even the kid got scratched and didn't turn.

The plot really went nowhere. And I don't understand why anyone would want to write such a depressing script. No dark humor, just a very dark movie. It was even pointless to add the woman at the end. Why bother.

This movie needed a few more characters. And more of a plot.

I have to agree on all accounts I don't know why so many people seem to be so in love with it on the site I use for streaming, every single comment was overwhelmingly positive.

It's not worth spending $6.99 VOD that's for sure, but at the same time it's no where near as bad as the current 1/10 single review makes it out to be.

I thought the creatures were identical to the underground dwellers from The Descent, same blind pale skinned using echo locating to find food.

It's called an opinion and some people disagree with yours, no mystery. There are probably a lot of films that you like that a lot of people would think are terrible,. Yes, I think animosity towards Fox has some users voting before even seeing the film. There seems to be a gang of haters on here who trash him for everything.

Boy are you reading into things that don't exist, Fox who? It appears that you seem to be the one that has a problem with another person's opinion. It's a film that I was surprised at all of the praise it was getting on a free streaming site, if that bothers you then, well obviously it bothers you quite a bit, anyway deal with it and take your own misguided advice.

I wasn't talking about you, everything doesn't revolve around you.. And you know that I meant Matthew Fox, since you just supposedly watched a pirated copy of a film with him in it that other people happened to like. Maybe I could understand your anger if you actually paid for it. LOL

Carrigon, while i admit the movie isn't a "feel good" movie and while yes, some depressing things happen in it, what did you want with a zombie/creature movie taking place 9 years after an apocalypse? were you expecting happy times at the end?
also the ending was a tiny bit hopeful since it's said in the movie that the 3 survivors would travel to the town that the woman (who radio'd the little girl during the final attacks) told them to go to. i also think the fact the sun was starting to come up again (it had been winter/snowy for years and years they said) was a sign of hope/optimism. Matthew's character even said something like "i never thought i would see this again". then it shows the sun coming up.

regarding the bites not turning the guys, i actually loved that. it was original especially for the zombie/infection genre. it was included IMO to show that unlike TWD or almost all other zombie/infection movies and shows that mankind has a chance of rebounding since bites no longer turned/killed people.

the woman at the end IMO was included to show that it may be in fact possible for life to continue/repopulate the world.

how many zombie/infection movies ever explain these creatures? hardly any and usually when the show/movie tries to explain it (with science or whatever) it ruins the show/movie. it really didn't need to be explained. nothing any writer would have come up with would be satisfying to most people.

Were they biologists? Did I miss that? How would they have discovered exactly what had created the new mutation? We are privy to what they are privy to. The original Night of the Livng Dead didn't have the characters solving the mystery of how the whole zombie thing worked either.
