Oh, Dog.

I wish Donovan's character had shot the zombie that attacked Dog. I wanted to turn the movie off then and there because the movie was already depressing enough, and then that happened?

Poor dog :(

You know something, I always hate to see any kind of pet in a movie like this. You know it's just a matter of time, I was on pins and needles just waiting for the inevitable. Yeah, ok...some people might think me silly for this to bother me but it always makes me not want to watch a movie.
Why don't you just fast forward and see the rest? It gets a little better for a while after that happens...

reply

*I* don't think you're silly, zooymtoo. I HATE waiting for the inevitable death of pets in movies. I super-fast-forward through them, then go back.

I tured it off that idiot made me hate the movie what a stupid movie a cold hearted father.

pretty much agree with u...
In that situation even a baddest person (100 times out of 100) would try to shoot that zombie and help patrick

If i was patrick.. after surviving that incident i would have straightaway but a bullet in his head (jacks)

Loved that dog.. was wishing that it couldn't have been killed
Poor dog and poor patrick

Overall a good movie though

While I understand folks and animals die so it didn't upset me for that reason. What upset me was how he seem to be pretty clueless on the survival type stuff after 9 years. You think his reaction would be kill kill kill kill the threat as fast as you can. I wouldn't of hesitated one bit when I saw that monster.

I thought the reason he didn't shoot the zombie right away was because he didn't have a clear shot and was afraid to accidentally shoot Patrick. (They were in the middle of a struggle, iirc.) However, earlier in the movie, Jack made it clear how good of a shot he is (scene of him shooting the bottles) soo...no idea.

@pratiksurve020694 - Really? You'd kill the girl's father? You'll rob her of everything because your dog died? Nice.

reply

Yes.. because he didn't shoot the zombie when he had the chance and that's the reason the dog was dead.
Also Jack did not shoot the zombie because he hated Patrick(even the worst of enemies would have thought of saving someone in that situation)

reply

what made that scene of Jack not shooting the attacking zombie even MORE infuriating is that it's Patrick who has the right/justification to be angry at Jack not the other way around. it's Jack who slept with Patrick's wife thereby causing the bad blood between them. Jack then (over the years) proceeds to blame Patrick for the wife's death even though it wasn't his fault. Jack then (over the next 9 years or so) proceeds to treat Patrick like THE worst person who ever lived going to so far as to taking away Patrick's daughter to "protect" her. Jack deserved to die.

when Jack kept making comments like "I am not the one you need to apologize to" (meaning Jack needs to apologize to Lu) and the like...it just made me hate Jack all the more. Patrick was overall a good man and didn't deserve the $hit that Jack brought into his life.

reply

totally agreed....
