big disappointment (big spoiler)

There were only 2 characters I liked in this movie and both had to die!

- Patrick
- Patrick's dog

all others were idiots, including LU!

Agreed. Dumb characters! Honestly this was not the horror movie I was expecting.

This! A hundred times over.

These clowns seemed even worse I think because I just saw Zombieland again the other day.

Yah I'm right to the part he got bit and the dog gets killed. I was expecting prob the father gets killed and he ends up taking care of the girl for him.

The father was the one who got killed. You weren't paying much attention

Totally agree. Felt like I was watching a Made For Tv movie.

This is why you should always look up the financing/production information of a movie, at least if you're uncertain about it. That is always a good way to temper your expectations on a movie so that you don't go in expecting more than you should. This movie, in particular was on a $7 million budget, and the first two production companies listed are VACA Films and Ombra Films. Low budget + production companies I've never heard of = low expectations.

Another way (if you're watching on a whim), is to simply pay attention to the named cast on the dvd case or if netflix, at the beginning of the movie. None of the cast members are A list actors and they largely play supporting roles.

Of course, if you don't know anything about the movie, I don't know why anyone would have any expectations of a movie other than by word of mouth (which can ruin anyone's expectations really). With smartphones, there's enough information readily available that you can spend a minute or two looking up the movie before electing to spend the next one and a half hours watching it hoping not to be disappointed.
