don't start the truck until I give you the signal....?!?

well I was assuming the signal would have been the explosion to keep the creatures/zombies from following the truck or even heading toward it in the first place. however in the scene where you drops the flare into the spilled gas, the truck clearly had been started and was already moving away.....
other than that actually pretty cool and different kinda film - it would have made it a bit more interesting if in the end if it was Jack who sacrificed himself instead of Patrick to allow Patrick to have a second chance at being a father to Lu, that would have amped up the whole sort of human drama loss/redemption story vibe that was the bigger story line than the zombies.....

Agreed. Plus, not really knowing what would be found in the new city, at least we'd have been left with a little hope for the future of the human race if we knew our 'hero,' Patrick, lived.

Patrick could have taught Lou to be a strong woman -- she definitely wouldn't learn how from Jack. Jack was a broken man who was completely crippled by fear.

How often do you plan something and it end up working exactly like you planned?

Exactly

You gave yourself a name. I gave mine up.

reply

Maybe you just suck at planning, Fat Dan.

When I'm gone I would like something to be named after me. A psychiatric disorder, for example.

Hahaha

It's a movie. It can, literally, work out however you want it to.
