Good for what it was...
Like it or not, this is a movie about race in america that portrays the american west as a complete horror show. I took my grandpa to see it and man was THAT a bad idea. Very uncomfortable. Would be cool to see Tarantino make a western where there is a cast of antiheros and more or less likeable characters that you laugh with (instead of laugh at). Kinda like True Grit or Bone Tomahawk. Some of the main characters in those movies are the worst, and yet you don't feel your stomach turn as much as you do watching most of the supporting cast in Django and pretty much everyone in Hateful 8.
