Picked up and pen and did not know when to put it down. His past 3 movies have all been overwritten, but omg did he top himself with this one. I'm not saying it's bad, I looked the movie, but certain scenes went on way too long, monologues went on way too long, to where it was kinda boring cause it so overwritten. It's like reading a novel where literally everything is described in perfect detail. It was just too much. However the screenplay didn't nearly big me as much as inglorious bastards with how everyone expect the Americans would speak overly proper.

Tarantino is more intellectual and artistic than most people want to admit. The violence and tomfoolery pull in folks looking for B movie trash violence but most people will be in for a slap in the face because he demands much more of his audience than that. And he loves monologues and building scenes and tension slowly. There's nothing overly proper or overwritten about that. Just get some coffee, stop checking your phone and work on your attention span. You'll enjoy his movies more if you do.

That's overwriting (something not needed to be explained) and trying too hard. I think every screenplay Tarantino writes he thinks he's gonna get an Oscar for before even finishing it.
