According to one of the extras on the DVD.... They decided to break the book into 2 movies... Trying to do a hunger games things (which worked)... Bad movie. All the flying things were not in the book - all were hocus pocus... ARG.. Memo to those who make movies from books.... Stick to the book....

People didn't care for the Allegiant book because it was too much Damaged and Pure talk and because of the ending.
Instead of making it a better story for the film they spent too much time having all this CGI and "advanced" technology. The book didn't have it. The movie didn't need it as the first movie did well without much of it.
