What do you all think of this episode? I just watched it and maybe it's because I'm sleepy or something but...I didn't get it. I'm not sure what the point of this episode was aside from making really forced references to things that were in at that time. I generally love this show but this episode just seemed like a waste of time.

It's been a while since I seen it but I took as an attempt to start to fill in Bojack back story. We had heard hints of his 'other' show - the Bojack Horseman Show - there was also clearly some event that cause him to turn into full alco burn out.

I see. Maybe I'll have to watch it again then. Well maybe I'll watch the whole show again. I just finished it a couple days ago and don't know what to do with myself now.

Aside from showing characters at an earlier period, it was a way to write in the botched Bojack Horseman Show, which IIRC we didn't know anything about up until then. It added a new event in Bojack's life, so it was convenient (albeit not necessary) to show the stuff that led up to the show, as well as the aftermath.
