No chemistry between Cruise and Smulders

They seemed like and awkward pairing. There was just no chemistry.
I generally like Cruise's movies but this one just seemed like he gave so little effort. As though he thought a few hard stares and some face twitches would be enough to win us over.
Smulders was good in the Avengers movies but in this movie her acting was too weak.
The teenage girl was better than both of them and she was only average.

Not sure there was supposed to be sexual chemistry.

It's that man again!!

reply

Guess you didn't read the book, or the one before it in which Reacher and Turner first met each other over the phone.

I just meant any kind of chemistry. They don't pair well in terms of their acting.

Realistically, why would she want to be with Reacher?
[1] Homeless...
[2] Rule-breaker...
[3] Power-monger, and bad listener. They frequently disagreed, and she never got her way...

He flirted with her, on the phone, suggested dinner, but did she firmly agree to that dinner?

reply

The least they could have done, is have her topless!

Are you an SJW ? If so, please kill yourself immediately! Thanks

Got that right..........

Cobie is yet another much younger actress paired with Cruise.

reply

Yea cause that doesn't happen with any other actors..

reply

And, there's no chemistry when that does happen with any other actors either.

reply

Probably his next wife.

reply

she's pretty but she's playing a masculine role. How can there be chemistry?

reply

What exactly do you mean by "a masculine role?"
Is this based on assumptions of what women are supposedly "supposed to" be like, what jobs it's okay for them to have, etc.? Those are outdated notions.

reply

good. why do we always have to have that? its bloody annoying to be honest, read mills n boone if you want romance

reply

It seems people no longer know what "chemistry" in film is(I have seen several posts referring to "chemistry" as strictly romantic). It is not the same as on the dating scene.
"Chemistry" in flim refers to the interaction between actors. It can be romantic, but that is not required at all.
E.g. Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau had great chemistry in "Grumpy Old Men". There was no romance between them.
Also, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker had great chemistry in "Rush Hour", also no romance between them.
