Technical Twin Scene

That early scene featuring both of Natalie Dormer's characters - how do you think it compares editing-wise to other twin scenes in the past?

I think they pulled the two off in the same scene fairly well.

reply

I thought so too. It was executed well. I don't know how it compares to others, no other twin scenes come to mind.

reply

The Parent Trap or the recent Legend film, for instance.

reply

I liked it, Dormer acted the two sisters just different enough and the editing didn't ruin that scene like it could have.

The editing did ruin most of the rest of the film though, or an exec got ahold of it and did some choppin'.

I haven't seen any similar scenes recently though.

reply

Actually, after re-watching, I don't think they achieved very much. There's only two shots of them both in the same frame and the rest are single - it makes it confusing telling the two apart, if they were both in the same shot more I think it would have been more successful.

The facial moles being identical on the "twin": highly unlikely, of course might lend credence to the "dissociative identity disorder " claims. Mirror image would have been more likely, not that it matters.

The best scenes I have seen with one actress playing more than one part on screen at the same time is Orphan Black.
