If you liked The Forest, you might want to check Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service (a manga series that has already been translated into ENG; there's an episode on Aokigahara Forest) but that's about it.
if you are open minded enough to watch some anime, "another" and "shiki" are really good japanese horror, taking place in small country side japanese villages.
