Does anyone think David’s dad might be a high functioning Aspie?
I think David is the sensitive, highly emotionally tuned-in person he portrays in the doc, but I think it might be his dad’s inability to understand the same language of emotion his son communicates in that resulted (perhaps inadvertently) in the traumatization by his father for most of his life.
His dad intellectually *knows* how to come across as friendly, but emotionally I didn’t pick up much. He seemed to be incessantly driven by logic— logic that he appears to have never questioned. A bit robotic and inflexible. I’m curious to know if anyone else saw this dynamic at all.
