Better than The Grudge (SPOILERS)

I really liked this movie. It was really well done. Alycia was great in it. The ending wasn't that bad.

SPOILER Summary:

It's about a popular college student, Laura, who has the perfect life with lots of friends on and offline. A loner goth girl sees Laura and sends her a friend request on Facebook. Laura feels sorry for her and accepts. But then the girl really starts stalking her and posting creepy vids on FB. When Laura lies to her that she isn't having a birthday party, but later posts pics of the party goth girl wasn't invited to, she confronts her in person. Laura can't take it anymore and unfriends her. And goth girl commits suicide, in some weird satanic ritual. And her ghost comes back to ruin Laura's life, kill all her friends, and show Laura what it's like to have no one.

The plot was very well written. They fully explained who this goth girl was, why she was the way she was, and where she was from.

I felt sorry for Laura as the ghost destroyed her life and started killing her friends. The ending was alittle up in the air. It was hard to tell, but they seemed to show the ghost won and possessed Laura. So it didn't have a happy ending at all. Or maybe Laura did get away, but ended up just like her.

I liked this movie better than The Grudge, the version with Sarah Michelle Gellar. Friend Request is one of the better newer horror movies. They left it a bit open for a sequel, but I kind of think they should leave it as a stand alone because it was really good. I gave it an 8 out of 10 rating.
