Looks terrible.

Obviously I haven't watched the film yet so I can't make a proper judgement, but it just looks like a second-rate Unfriended rip-off. Ignoring the comparison between that film, the trailer for "Friend Request" has got to be one of the most boring cliche-ridden trailers i've ever come across.
Why haven't people realised that obnoxiously loud sounds and stupid jump-scares do not make a film scary? If you want to see a truly unsettling film released this year, go and check out "The Witch".

fortunately you, my friend are part of a small demographic who can see through this misty fog of remakes and rip-offs, but the common joe won't really see through it to be honest and so the chances of a small indie film or a well made big budget overlooked film being highly praised or hyped by the public is very unlikely.

I actually quite liked it, it's far more effects driven than i first thought. However, you are correct in thinking , there is alot of jump scares and some cliches. But despite that , I think it's worth seeing if your a horror fan. I describe it as Single white female meets the Ring

This was shelved for 2 years, so it's not a rip off. People who bash movies before they even see them crack me up. Must be nice to be so clairvoyant. But, if you think it sucks THAT bad, there's a simple solution. Don't see it.
