Really... that's the ending you picked?

Alright so I just watched the movie and honestly it wasn't bad (by the way SPOILERS coming), yet the ending kind'a pissed me off, why you might ask?

Well normally when you see a movie like this, somehow somewhere, the most decent person (nicest, often the lead role) will either survive or at least die for something greater than herself and stop the witch bitch, and yet then there is the little thing at the end making you question if it is all over (like the hand up the grave kind'a thing), at least that is how most movies end, cause guess what.

After watching a whole movie where the witch *beep* kills innocent people, while two incompetent cops and a school full of retards destroy a nice person's life.

You kind'a looking forwards to seeing the lead role get some revenge...

Well, this is not that kind'a movie, there is no light at the end of this tunnel, this is really just a movie where you see a super nice girl get completely *beep* over and it ends with her life being ruined while the dumb witch bitch lives happily ever after? are you joking me?

Anyway... I guess some people might enjoy this, yet I find it to be kind'a crappy, cause when you are done watching a movie you shouldn't be left thinking "ahh... soo.. what does she do now?"

Yeah the ending had me actually wondering, did she get possessed by the witch psycho? Or did she just mess her up so bad she turned into her? Is it the crazy chick STARTING a new 'era' of herself, or was it actually someone ancient? I at least thought she would SOLVE something to a point, even though she was alone now, she stopped it.

Does suck to watch the a truly nice person get tortured by a psycho stalker that didn't even know anything about her. She didn't even know her in the least and stalked her like crazy.

It was creepy though and I liked the fresh take with the black mirror witchcraft angle, it was new and different.

I like that idea. That Marina was possessed and now the new girl is possessed. Like a sort of supernatural internet addiction disorder. It makes an otherwise blah movie into something with a little bite. But if that was the writer's intent, they should have dropped a couple more clues when whole black mirror phenomenon was described.

I didn't have a problem with it. The morality tale were people eventually get their just deserts has been over done for the last couple of decades. We need more films where bad stuff happens to good people and that's just the way it is. In my view, that's real horror.

I actually quite enjoyed this movie but the ending just made me go... really? Seriously? That's what you want to conclude all this with?

It made no sense and was overly pretentious.

I got the sense the whole movie that it was trying to emulate the style of American J-Horror remakes (The Ring, Pulse, One Missed Call) and the ending exactly fits that theory... but it made no sense for the story at all.

I do agree. We as viewers had no choice but to relate to Laura, because that witch character was very poorly written that there's no way we can feel any kind of sympathy for her at all. How could anyone possibly think that ending was a good idea? I even felt mildly disgusted by it.

Actualy, people are more likely to relate to Marina because of her tragic backstory, sure, she's psychotic, but there's at least an excuse for her actions and she clearly needs professional help. But, the main characters were unlikeable.

what excuse for her actions ? no one had a right to do what marina did

laura was a nice normal girl...she didn't deserve anything that happened. she was actually a nice person

This was more like Oculus where it was really a no win from the moment Marina killed herself. Since the story line placed no rules on how she was allowed to alter what they saw or effect what happened to her victims there was no real way to survive. Any victory would have been a contrivance of the writers letting Marina be tricked so that the laptop could be destroyed. Sure your average movie would have gone that way anyway but I respect this movie for not doing so.

I liked that the teen that killed her boyfriend took the one 'rule' he was aware of and actually tried to use it to save himself. A cruel character, especially to us viewers primed to root for the girl, but a smart one.

"Where you headed?"
"Nowhere special."
"Nowhere special. Always wanted to go there."

I liked this aspect too. Films, especially horror, don't always have to have a resolved/happy ending.

I see the Laura at the end being like Marina possession of her body, but like their tortured souls occupy it as a singular evil entity.
