so why did Marina become a witch? i didn't get the background story.

It looked like the boys were abusing/raping Marina when she was a child. so she started 'scrying' and dissociating into the blank computer screen.

Also Marina's mum was burnt wasn't she and they used to do that to witches, burn them. Plus that's how Marina committed suicide too.

what i don't understand is why marina would expect an invite to laura's birthday when she had not known her that long???

do u invite someone u added on facebook two weeks ago to your birthday party! ?
