Laura and her friends

I know that we're supposed to see Marina as the villain but as the movie went on, I thought Laura and her friends were awful people.

When they see Laura they're quick to judge her, despite the fact that they don't know anything about her. They base it all on the fact that she has no friends on Facebook (oh yeah, that's totally weird). Come on, they have like 800 friends on Facebook and they probably don't know that many people.

Were the gifs and artwork really that weird that Marina had to be some freak in their eyes? It seems like people share the same belief on this board.

Guys, there's plenty of similar artwork and gifs in real life. People who make that stuff aren't freaks, they just enjoy being creative and think it's fun. Ever heard of a youtube video called "Username666"? Some of the things Marina had there looked very similar to that.

Sure, later we learn that stuff was connected to black magic and some of footage there was real (like the video of her mother's burned body). Which doesn't make sense when you think about it, how did she get some of that stuff and put it on Facebook? Some parts weren't even filmed right?

Also, you'd think Facebook would remove something like that, if it was real.

I guess black magic is the answer.

But hey, the characters didn't know anything about her and it just looked like a weird art project.

So, her friends are quick to judge people, some of them think only of themselves (like her ex). One of them even said that at least they won't have classes because Marina committed suicide. WOW.

When that one girl is in the hospital (I forgot her name, it's not the blonde girl, it's the other friend of Laura's) she quickly says that it's all Laura's fault.

Wow, great friends she has there.

I'm not saying Marina is innocent, she obviously has mental issues, but that's the thing, after you learn how much her childhood sucked and how nobody gives her the help she needs, you feel sorry for her.

On the other hand, Laura and her friends seem judgemental, some of them think only about themselves, are jerks etc.

Why should we care what happens to those people? Laura isn't as bad as the others, she at least seems to feel guilt about what happened, but still acts like a jerk in some scenes and makes some really stupid things.

I have no idea why people think the protagonists were such good people, they weren't really.

Laura and her friends seem judgemental

All humans are judgmental. Even you, so please stop acting like a saint as if you and your friends have never judged someone (especially when you were younger).

I bet you're wondering what a place like this is doing in a girl like me-The Mummy

but Marina is in college not high school...she should have least tried to address her issues, it wasn't Laura's responsibility to fix marina.

that's like partners who beat their spouses- 'but they had a terrible childhood' or anyone who does anything bad- where does Marina take responsibility for her actions and try to be a better person?

marina was way too clingy- 30 messages after the first few days- alarm bells ringing?? and wanting to some to her party after two weeks?!?! they weren't even hanging out properly!!

marina was a psycho ...a nightmare waiting to happen and poor laura was the one she picked.

laura's only flaw was trying not to upset Marina- if someone i added on facebook whom i never even had coffee or a drink with- wanted to come to my birthday with my family and friends i would say - 'u seriously deluded!' and unfriend them.

Laura should have stayed well
clear. it was college and she deserved the time
of her life.

I understand her needy disposition. Marina was desperately lonely and broken.
I think the message here is "never piss a witch off." The problem I have with the plot is that they depict witches as evil.

It's natural to judge as human beings..even you are judging fictional characters, let alone people in real life. As long as Laura and her friends are not acting rude in front of Marina it's all good for me.
