What Marina gained from turning Laura into a version of her. I would have expected Marina to bring Laura into her dark fantasy world and not make her a living replica of herself as the lonely friendless stranger girl. What does she gain by repeating the cycle which is what is indicated?

I'm not sure but I think, like the movie suggest, she wanted her to be as lonely as she was. But I can see where you're coming from. Unless I'm mistaken you're saying why didn't she bring her into her world and force her to be her friend? Or what?
