Cary Elwes

In my opinion if he wasn't the first member of the cast confirmed then there is no point even considering this movie

Don't give me a sequel and forget or not have Gordon the main character

Unless of course there will be more after this then gradually build to it

Also if they even mention that John has been conjured or summoned back from the dead then it will be stupid

Gordon
Hoffman
Or no movie

I think the filmmakers are aware that they need Gordon and hopefully Hoffman.
Otherwise it'll feel more like a reboot rather than #8, and that would not be a good thing.

reply

Agree fully. If they don't have the original characters, don't put the Saw name on it

reply

Costas won't be in it, he posted on instagram that he hasn't heard about a new Saw (didn't seem coy about it, he truly didn't seem to have been asked to come back). I personally hope Elwes is not in, because 3D was a bad movie, and the series is too hard to follow for newcomers to jump in. They can throw in references to old characters, but make it far removed from the original movies.

reply

Ok I'm down with a reference to Hoffman dying in the bathroom and a corpse but no way you can have any continuity without Gordon

The last we knew he had been helping Jigsaw

All anyone will say if he's not seen is "what happened to Gordon" and if the producers don't want to be bombarded with the same questions when it's released they need to deal with it from the start

I don't care about Saw 3D, I truly just don't. It's not even in the same league as the second worst Saw movie, as far as I'm concerned. It was a rushed mess. I don't even really blame the creators for it, it was a victim of unfortunate circumstances.

It was Lionsgate fault. They forced Kevin Greutert to do it, and there you have the result... It's pretty clear, I mean, it's the same person who made VI, one of the best in the series.

Could you post what Costas said? I spoke with him maybe 6 months ago and he said he was involved. That they are working on a script. He said he "needs to get doctor gordon"

He said, they have a beginning and end, but that they were working on the middle...

I met him at the Hollywood Show in LA.

reply

As much as I want Dr. Gordon to return in a significant capacity, I'd be satisfied if he even just had a cameo where he "passed the torch" to a new apprentice/heir to the legacy, since it seems like they're trying to take the series in a new direction that references the original and takes place in the same universe, but focuses on new characters and storylines.

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?
