What was up with that? At first I thought the powder was from the guns, but no, whenever one of the natives died they exploded into clouds of blue or red powder. WTF? Were they part fairy, or were they changed when they formed an alliance with the fairies? It wasn't a violence censory because the pirates just dropped dead when they were killed. So did I miss something?
shareI went to see this movie with a teenaged relative. She was the one who said how she appreciated that the movie did not show blood but created the blue and orange smoke to depict the physical carnage! Colorful without showing the gore!
The cold blooded massacre of a group of almost unarmed people, head shots and all, in a movie for children does not shock you people but if one of the natives would start bleeding it does? Wow. Talk about perverted sensitivities...

I think the pirates used some kinda magic guns (it makes sense to use a weapon to kill the enemy no matter what part of the body you hit)
shareThis movie just can't decide whether it's for children or adults. Why couldn't they have a lousy, painfully unrealistic sword fightlike every other kids movie.
shareI figured it was because they WERE natives of Neverland, just as the fairies are, and that was what happens when they are mortally wounded. The pirates and slaves are all from different time on Earth, so therefore human.

shareAccording to the creators, since this film was going to have a big draw for children they decided to have the natives burst into colorful powder instead of laying around all bloody, makes sense to me.
shareI also found it funny when they started committing fairy genocide with flamethrowers. And pirates can be axed to death. Just the native people get the coloured dust treatment.
