what would have made it better?

I've posted before that I actually really liked this movie, I thought it was a fun well rounded (yet predictable) supernatural horror.

I know a lot of people didn't like the film and found it boring amongst many other points (bad acting, predictable, doll didn't move)

I'm just just curious in a 'what went wrong' vein as to how it could have been improved for those who didn't like it? what would you have done differently if you had made the movie? what would you have preferred to see?

I liked the film okay but I also look at it differently. The Annabelle Doll was used as a threat to the Warrens in "The Conjuring" and it scared the Hell out of them. This film did an okay job of showing why, it's teathered demon and all. But the film that was made could've been better if the mother actually had murdered the baby and then killed herself in an attempt to revive it only for that to have been a lie to show just how bad the doll really was and why the Warrens were afraid of it when the ghost threatened to release it.

As for the film that wasn't made, I'd have much rather seem something similar to "The Conjuring" opening sequence involving the nurses. The writing on the wall, the moving from room to room. If done right it could've been quite creepy
