The mother was so stupid!

Between her falling and forgetting how to stand and looking around when she should have been running, this made the movie horrible!

reply

her facial expression was always that of slight boredom, or like she was in a trance or high.

reply

That too! Lol

I agree. She looked like she was in a stupor the entire movie and who leaves a baby alone in an apartment to go down into a dark storage unit in the basement of a building. When the doll levitated and the mom screams out, what does she do next? She puts the doll back on the shelf. Dumb.

reply

They were both stupid. As soon as the doll started showing up in different positions and rocking itself in the rocking chair I would have thrown that thing into the fire place.

Lol. Just rented this On Demand for the first time last night and I have to agree 100% about Mia acting like a dumbass any and every time she should've been getting a move on.

If we wanna hear you talk, I will shove my arm up your ass and work your mouth like a puppet!

reply

esp when Evelyn is like "Let's get outta here" & she just stands there like a bump on a log & looks up @ the ceiling. LOL

I would've hurried up and left that apartment so fast that I wouldn't have time to be standing there looking stupid. LOL

My favorite part is when she hears a noise from the neighbors' house at night, wakes her husband and insists on calling the police because she feels something is wrong...and then wanders off alone in the direction of said house! What the....!

I didn't understand why she refused to stay in bed after the doctor put her on bed rest. She was constantly up and walking around, or sitting and doing sewing. The whole point of bed rest is to keep the baby from applying pressure to the cervix, which can only be accomplished by lying down. The doctor even explains this to her.

The whole point of the movie was aren't mothers excepting and know better than everyone else.

At the start the husband talks about how everything is affecting him and she gets pissy because it's all about her.

He mentions the study about fetuses taking in more stimuli than they realised and she has a sarky remark about why didn't the man doing that just ask a women.
How about one of the billions of women that have been pregnant mention it just once.

Later she berates him for talking like a doctor.

She ignores the doctor after being stabbed, surprised she let anyone fix her up that wasn't a witch doctor.

The priest keeps worshiping at the altar of motherhood with his comments about women being the closest to god and black woman says there's nothing stronger than a mothers love for a daughter. Apparently fathers or sons don't count as much.

It seems the film was trying to be isn't there nothing like a mother but by the usual way messages are pushed these days by alienating and having something be the clueless foil in this case modern medicine and fathers/males
