Female Version of Child's Play

Very similar to Child's Play, ghost stay in a doll but female one this
time. I don't like the ending, that is not sacrifice, still under the
control of devil......

And I love Annabelle........

Not really, there was no doubt about Chucky. Chucky would have no problem attacking you in front of a bunch of other people.. coming at you with a knife or whatever else he had.

Annabelle was more a strategic doll ... only attacking when no one is looking .. most of the time not even you .... so that it'd play more of a psychological effect on you as well. People might think you're crazy if Annabelle attacked you in real life, but no one would think you're crazy if Chucky attacked you in real life considering if Chucky attacked you in real life, then everyone would be able to see it with their own eyes.

Yes, I agree. "everyone would be able to see it with their own eyes." 😃

Also Annabelle was possessed by a demon while in Child's Play was a human ghost that possessed the doll.

I do agree with you there but only a few scenes/sets were reminiscent of Childs Play.

1) The apartment, which I felt was a little bit similar in the layout plan.
2) Defeating Annabelle in the apartment.
3) Annabelle coming to life and throwing furniture around (Although I guess you have to use your imagination for the latter).

Childs Play was about a doll posessed by a criminal desperate to find a new body to live in; Andy Barclay was the target. Anabelle was posessed by the soul of a woman who followed satanic rituals and cult. But the soul was able to leave the doll and become a ghost, something Chucky couldn't do.

Apparently nobody on this board is familiar with a '90s b-movie called "Dolly Dearest." Not too surprising since it was forgettable straight-to-video fare which lacked the craftsmanship of the original "Child's Play" and the visual flair of "Annabelle." But in regards to the dolls themselves, Annabelle is much closer to Dolly than Chucky.

Child's Play didn't create the evil doll genre.

Ever heard of Dead of Night 1945, Devil Doll, Dolls (1987), Magic, Trilogy of Terror, Poltergeist, Making Contact aka Joey etc.? long before CP and Puppet Master.

Annabelle is way scarier than Chuckie. Chuckie was really creepy until the scene where the mother tries to burn him. Then he starts cussing her out and the movie goes down the toilet. Subtle scares of a doll are way more frightening than an animated doll coming at you. Just kick it out of the way lol
