...i find that film incredibly disappointing with how by-the-numbers it was.
Why that film gets all the love and, on the flip-side, ANNABELLE appears to just be despised when it was a much more stylishly directed, genuinely creepy horror entry...I just don't get it.

I have the complete opposite opinion.I found the Conjuring to be a stylishly directed,Genuinely creepy horror entry and was disappointed by Annabelle.For me the scares in Annabelle were few and far apart and the story and characters just weren't that interesting.

I agree with you. I preferred the conjuring over Annabelle. I tried to like Annabelle and tried to watch it with an opened mind and had no high hopes but it just did nothing for me. It just couldn't keep my interest and I found the ending really bad. I don't know, I guess for me it was kind of slow moving but honestly it just difference of opinions. There are some scary movies that I just love and other people hate, so what does it really matter, as long as you had a good scare!!!
