....the Cyril Wecht FBI indictment issue. Adjacent to Omalu's CTE research, and the NFL's denial of it, Wecht ruled the death of a man in police custody as a homicide. The DA, Stephen Zappala refused to bring charges against the officers involved, but Wecht wrote a medical opinion used by the family of the victim in a civil lawsuit. His indictment was retaliation by Zappala, and not related to Omalu's work.

that's too bad, it worked well for the story.

I think because it worked well within the story, they took liberties with it.
