Cheesy Oscar bait

Watched this movie with a couple of friends who really wanted to see it. The story was not very coherent and some of the moments were filled with terrible corny Oscar bait dialogue. The film had its moments, but their were parts where they tried to elevate this doctor to a god status he did not achieve in real life. The love storyline was painful and barely moved the plot!

Why not just make the movie truthful if that is the central theme?

"Tell the truth, tell the truth Concussion movie!"

Important movie, very mediocre.

What a stupid comment. All I saw was a man that wanted the truth to be revealed. The NFL tried to silence him but he didn't stand down. If you had any brain activity you would have understood that Bennet wanted the NFL to admit that playing football did cause the death to many NFL players. The American way is about fighting for what you believe in and fighting for those that cannot fight for themselves, and that is what he achieved.

God like status? I guess being respected means God like status. 

Sometimes, it seems like people overuse and misuse the term, "Oscar bait".

An A-List Hollywood Actor, primarily known for blockbuster action movies, like Wil Smith, in a bio pic with an accent is Oscar bait.

However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Wil Smith wanting to be at the top of his acting game, taking a pay cut, in order to get this movie done and it's message out to millions about the danger of playing football for personal reasons (his oldest son plays football) and to receive an Oscar nomination in the process. Better luck next time.

I agree about it being blatantly sappy. Poor writing.
