Why not target the WBO, UFC, NHL, USA Rugby, etc..

I don't understand why Bennet solely focuses on exposing the NFL...
I mean I kinda understand why because they're keeping the science-related stuff quiet, but how about every other high impact sport? Players experience similar cases of severe head trauma from those sports i'd mentioned in the title..They too are forced to contend with the deterioration of the health of their brains.

It seems as if Bennet's only out to bring down the NFL? i don't get it

I think it stemmed from the fact that he happened to be the one to perform the autopsy on Mike Webster. Then a couple weeks later Justin Strelczyk was next and he learned of him also being an NFL player. That showed a possible trend with football players. Soon others followed and even had requested their brains be examined through the autopsy process. I think that was plenty enough to keep him busy, add in the fact that the NFL hid a lot of their knowledge of the issues.

That is not to say that the other sports you list are not as potentially damaging if not worse but this movie per se, and the doctor portrayed focused on football and the NFL. This was big news when it first happened here in Pittsburgh with Mike Webster, Justin Strlczyk, and then Terry Long months later.

you didn't even answer my question lmao
You basically wrote me an overview of the film..I already knew these things

My question is, why is Bennet so deeply concerned with NHL alone? Since he'd investigated cases of corruption in the NFL, shouldn't he also equally be targeting a couple of other major sports institutions...because it seems like other high contact sporting institutions, could be gratuitously getting away with exercising the same kind of corruption as the NHL...doesn't seem very fair

Well since the film is based on real life events I guess Bennet is the only one that can answer your question. That said Joanie Laurer aka Chyna just had her brain donated to Dr. Omalu for CTE research so maybe this will kick things off into these other sports.

A scientist cannot state a conclusive finding without hard data.

Like tkus24 said, Bennet’s data (ie evidence) had to do with NFL Players.

He can surely make informed hypotheses regarding other sports, but his evidence was garnered from deceased football players. Therefore, that is where the arguments resides.

Basically, he can’t very well publish such a strong assertion on NHL players when he hasn’t examined their brains.

I would expect that type of research to come eventually, not only from Bennet from others as well.

They knew things like these could happen in boxing and other Sports. It was documented. Yet nfl tried to conceal it due to The possible damages to The organization. The issue here was Football.
And in science you cant just extrapolate resulta to similar events.
