Will Smith should have won the Oscar..
Something is completely corrupt with the fact that he wasn't even nominated.
shareSomething is completely corrupt with the fact that he wasn't even nominated.
shareWhy? Because he had an accent? I didn't see anything that special about his performance.
shareHe was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor but not an Oscar. Academy voters are old white and male. Nuff said
shareJust saw it on a "free premium channel" weekend and as a 69yr old white guy I can safely say that your statement re: "corruption" is correct but I'd like to add STUPIDITY to the mix. His role was MAGNIFICIENT! That accent could have not been easy and he obviously did his homework. In addition, his portrayal of varying intense emotions was definitely Oscar-worthy. I gave up on the Academy Awards when they didn't give Michael Clark Duncan an Oscar in "The Green Mile." Just a bunch of insulated incestuous MORONS!
shareI completely agree. I dismissed the uproar fronted by Jada Pinkett Smith as spousal loyalty until I saw the film. I didn't even recognize Will Smith until 15 minutes into the movie. Phenomenal job. His was the outstanding performance of a male actor last year.
