OMG, it gets even "better"

Sheesh, I swear if it wasn't for "BoJack Horseman" (2014 - Present) and "Stranger Things" (2016 - Present), I would've ditched Netflix after them canning this series.
Now we just have to wait until "Jessica Jones" (2015 - Present) and "The Punisher" (2017 - Present) also gets the axe.
I think this is probably it for these characters. Well I mean at least them being portrayed by these same actors. I think that if we see them again they will be recast which is a shame. Daredevil was an amazing series I loved it.
shareWorst of all, Marvel apparently didn't even know anything about this?..
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if entirely new versions of Daredevil, Luke Cage, etc. show up in a future MCU movie with all Netflix shows retconned out of existence.
shareThat's exactly what I think is gonna happen. DD def will be retconned. New actor, new story and everything at some point in phase 4 or beyond.
There was always a small disconnect between the shows and films but enough references for you to know that DD and Luke Cage are in the same world as Loki and Iron Man. But the events of Infinity War having zero impact on the shows tells me that the film side of the MCU has no love or respect for the tv show side. I know everyone is saying "ohh all the shows occur before the snap", but we ALL know NONE of the writers of the shows knew what was gonna happen in Infinity War.
Only Agents of Shield makes a reference that Thanos is coming. Could you have imagined if in the final scene of DD season 3 when Matt, Foggy and Karen are all happy all of a sudden Foggy and Karen turn to dust.... or as Fisk is being processed all the cops around him turn to dust and he is free on his own.... imagine that ending.
To be fair, all the seasons that have been released since The Defenders were said to take place after Civil War but before Infinity War.
shareBut there are other disconnects. Luke cage always mentions Obama's presidency but when Obama was president in the MCu Ellis was President.
shareActually, they never mention the Obama presidency. Stryker mentions Obama, but never calls him the president. Obama was a Senator and a city planner in Chicago, so he could have still become famous in the MCU. Stryker also says "Yes we can" but since Obama ran in 2007 with that slogan, it could mean a number of things such as Obama being a one-term president or simply running but not being elected.
Additionally, the first season of Luke Cage was in 2016, which was an election year in our world and likely in the MCU as well. It's possible Obama was running at that time with the "Yes we can" slogan.
Well, that's kind of depressing. I was hopeful..
That's what I get for finally finding something well acted and well written that I was really looking forward to more seasons.
I get the why but basically these corps are so greedy for ownership that they own something popular right out of existence. Everyone loses.
I won't be interested in a reboot later on with different actors. Or a softer reboot.
At least we got 3 seasons. And another season of The Punisher..and Jessica Jones.
That sucks. Daredevil Season 3 was fantastic... a damn good crime drama that, in my mind, came close to Breaking Bad levels of brilliance in its story of morally conflicted characters.
I hope they eventually bring back the original cast and continue to keep it 'grounded' a la the Dark Knight trilogy. I don't want to see DD and Luke Cage alongside the cinema characters... they have been developed as these complex characters in a way that the big screen characters haven't.
We had to wait about three years between Nolan's movies so maybe this thing is doable.
