Karen's backstory

So in "Seven Minutes in Heaven," we see an article about the death of Karen Page's brother:

Mystery Accident Causes Teen Fatality

“16-year-old teen died in a single-car crash in Windler [sic] County on Friday, authorities said. The unsolved death of this young man is currently under investigation.

“According to a Vermont Highway Patrol report, the young man, Kevin Paxton Page of Fagan Corners, veered off the roadway while heading east on Vermont Route 12 from the Hill Road exit ramp off Interstate 89.

“For an unknown reason, Page’s vehicle went through a chain link fence and ran into an embankment on the road’s north shoulder at about 1:40 p.m.

“Vermont Highway Patrol found Page dead at the scene. His body was taken to Windler Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

“The young man’s death, as well as the cause of the accident, remain under investigation…”

Fagan Corners is obviously fictional, given it's from the comics, but the references on geography are off. Namely, Vermont Route 12 is a north-south highway that runs parallel to Interstate 89 for much of its length, with the two highways only crossing at the state capital in Montpelier. There's also no direct off-ramp between VT-12 and I-89. There also is no Windler County in Vermont, as Montpelier is in Washington County. Yeah, I get it that the comics like to create fictional locations, but it's kinda hard to put them down when the article uses real highway numbers.

I mean, I'd like to think that Fagan Corners IS supposed to be Montpelier, but I'm not entirely sure.

Of course, there's also what we know from the article:
1. That Karen had a brother named Kevin Paxton Page (Paxton is the name of 616 Karen’s father), who died in a mysterious car crash.

2. We can also infer that Karen was somehow involved in the accident.

3. Karen’s level of identification with Frank Castle has undertones of shared family-based trauma, and we know she is still trying to keep her past a secret– though she does start opening up to Matt a tiny bit when he asks about her brother. Whatever happened, it was clearly messy, and not something Karen wants to revisit.

4. The accident may have actually been intentional, and someone killed Kevin Page. And Karen tracked down and killed that person. We can infer this from Karen's dialogue right before she kills Wesley, when she says "Do you really think this is the first time I've ever shot someone?" This means that Karen can tell the difference in weight between a handgun with a loaded magazine and an empty one and infers she's shot someone in the past.

5. Points 2 and 4 are somewhat backed up by Karen's actions throughout season 1 even before she kills Wesley. She pushes Ben Urich so hard to write and publish the piece that details how Fisk killed his father because she believes that she can't go public with any kind of story herself. In "In the Blood," Karen implies that whatever Ben dug up about her past doesn't make her credible as a witness... and Ben seems to silently agree.
