About Detective Blake's death
Part of me is wondering if the way Blake's death is set up is in fact all exactly how Fisk intended it to go: he gets shot during the standoff, is in a coma, and when he comes out, Hoffman is threatened into killing him.
I mean, we know Blake and Hoffman were friends for 35 years, since before the police academy. We also know when Wesley informs Fisk that Blake has regained consciousness that Hoffman will probably not be too willing to kill his best friend and partner.
We also know that the ESU sniper was probably Bullseye, given you can see an Ace of Spades in his backpack when he's assembling his rifle. Bullseye is supposed to be an expert sharpshooter. He could've been told to give Blake a severe but nonfatal wound (and fatally shoot those two uniformed cops to keep the true motive silent). Consider that Bullseye shot Blake in the chest somewhere around his right lung, while he shot the two uniformed cops in the head.
Hoffman killing Blake at the hospital had always been the plan, as Fisk wanted to be sure he could still maintain Hoffman's loyalty after getting rid of Blake.
