Did DA Reyes really have to die?

It seems like it really didn't have to happen that way. Grievously injured, sure. But killed, and Frank takes the blame-- which, I don't think was ever really resolved. The police and general public assume that he did it.

Reyes was an attractive woman. It really didn't have to happen this way.

Yes, Reyes had to be killed. Despite her finally admitting her guilt and wrongdoings, she'd been a complete sleaze throughout her run in the season. At this point, death, disbarment or jail were the only three likely outcomes she was going to get.
