It's a given Danny will possess a super punch but will it be on fire?
I'm guessing no based on the realism striven for in these series.
The special effects would be easy and not expensive but I don't think they want it.
I kind of envision it as an inner glow, kind of like a light under the skin. It will give it a supernatural feel without making it look cheesy. Even with the lowkey aspect of these shows, I kinda want some sort of visual effect when he uses the IF.

shareThat's what I'm hoping for too. It doesn't have to be a blatantly obvious thing. Just a slight glowing aura around his fist would suffice.
That said, I won't hugely disappointed if they decide not to do the glowing fist, provided they at least give us an Easter egg referring to it (much like they did with Luke's tiara, bracelets, and chain belt). I can understand that it might take away from the realism of the fight scenes if Danny is always sporting a flaming chi fist.
Yeah. I was actually joking about Sho'nuf. As that movie has (for the present day) horrible effects.
But, I wasn't kidding about hoping they glow a bit. Like you mention, it doesn't have to be blatant; but a nice inner glow would be kinda cool.
I'm hoping they'll put him in his green silk pajamas as a tribute, like they did with Luke's tiara & yellow silk shirt. Absolutely loved that scene, and them him joking about it later. It fit, and didn't kill the "realism" (at least for me).

This is Joe Quesada concept art for the show. His fist is glowing in the art, so I imagine it will on the show as well.
