I had this
I use to have SP all the time as a kid. It stopped as I got older, and I have only had it maybe 2-3 times as an adu my twin brother who takes hydrocodone and flexiril has them often tho, does narcotics or stress make this worse?

shareI used to get SP severely about 6 years back and let me tell you, my nightmares are not a place **anyone** would want to go. I've described them to people and they look at me with horror and pity. The worst part is always waking up because the nightmare doesn't end when you do. You're still paralysed and the bad guys from the nightmare are still there, they're just walking around your actual bedroom instead.
But funny that you mention the narco angle because I have other conditions that cause a lot pain for me and so at that time, I was heavily medicated on narcotics. I haven't ever heard that SP is caused by narcotics or that narcotics could cause SP but maybe it is a factor.
I think that anything that puts you in an extremely relaxed state may make it more likely.
