Did Stallone and Weathers have a falling out years ago or something?

Carl Weathers has more of an '80s action movie legacy than some of the other guys in these movies. Moreover, thanks to his role in "The Mandalorian" (2019) he has been introduced to a new and younger audience.

His inclusion in the franchise seems like a no-brainer, yet he has never been featured in a single Expendables film.

What's the deal? Do Sly and Carl have some kind of feud?

I think there was. I remember reading that when Stallone returned to the role of Rocky, Weathers approached him, wanting a way he could somehow reprise his role as Apollo - but Stallone said no. Weathers wasn't happy.
