Loved it (spoilers)
At the end I thought it was going to be a modern Romeo and Juliet thing.
I didn't quite understand why Guy Pierce's role told Nia that Silace would be waiting at his apartment for her. They planned it out perfectly and he wasn't at his apartment? Still don't get it. I guess for movie tension, just doesn't make sense for drama.
I like the twist that neither of them die and that his love for her was enough for the drug not to be strong enough-- but also that human touch alone is so powerful. I think the more they touch one another, just hand holding, hugging, cuddling, the drug won't be as powerful and he would restore his sensitivity again. People forget how powerful literally just how important and crucial *touch* is. Which is what I got from the hand holding at the end. He may have still been feeling the effects of the drug but he remembered he loved her, and still did, but wasn't feeling it 100 percent and wanted to sit with her, and explore it what he was remembering, and the seocond he touched her, the longer they held hands, he started to grin like he was not just remembering it but feeling it again. Perfect ending.
I wasn't expecting to like this as much but it was great.
Nicholas Hoult has truly turned out to be an incredible actor. I hope he gets more and more roles. And Kristen Stewart, when given the right role is a good actress. I used to give her a lot of shi* because I was never a twilight fan. And the Twilight movies I did see, I thought she was awful in. But I keep seeing random movies now with her in them where she does a great job. She is actually captivating to watch in certain roles. This one was great for her. It's funny how a role where she isn't supposed to show too much emotion she actually showed a lot in the perfect amounts. People are making fun of this because "it's perfect for her because it's an emotionless role" but she actually is not emotionless or bland in this at all somehow. Really impressive. :) Her and Nicholas also had great chemistry.
