50 Cent Vows to Quit Power Over Golden Globe Snub: 'Kanan Must Die'

Let's face it. Power is hardly an award worthy show. The only person who I think is worthy of an award or an Emmy is Joseph Sikora who plays Tommy. He's dymamite in his role.

As far as 50 Cent leaving the show, I say see ya!!

The star and exec producer of Starz’ Power took to social media on Monday following the announcement of the 2017 Golden Globe nominations and expressed fury over the series’ poor showing.

“I’m on the move again,” he wrote. “Golden Globe’s can s–k a d–k. I accept my series Power was not intended to be a signature show for the network, but it is the highest-rated show.”

The actor-rapper — aka Curtis Jackson — went on to say he’s “done promoting this out side of contractual obligations,” before adding that in the drama’s upcoming fourth season his drug-lord character Kanan “must die.” He then concluded: “I got other s–t to do.”

In a statement to TVLine, a rep for Starz said, “We are grateful for the excellent work being done on Power by the producers, cast and crew. We certainly think this exceptional show has been overlooked by various awards committees, but the fans have made it the second-most watched show on premium cable in 2016… and those are accolades that mean just as much, if not more.”

Thanks for posting. Kanan should have died a long time ago, so if 50 Cent wants to get killed off I am thrilled. I hated that character after what he did to Shawn. And I love Joseph Sikora and agree with you that he should be nominated. He is very talented and plays his character so well.

I hate the character because besides being a bad cliche, 50 cent cannot act which makes it worse. Everytime he's on screen it's uncomfortable because he's so bad. But I guess he'll be around for another season it appears.

He ain't quitting. No one would try to talk him out of killing Kanan and his ego (and wallet) couldn't take it.

Some people are so greedy. He should be happy that he's providing an entertaining show and it has a decent sized audience for a cable channel.

But if he really wants to receive awards, instead of looking stupid and making the show a target of harsh criticism -- because we can pick it apart, he should just hire better writers. He has a good cast, except himself. The set is fine. However, it could use a better soundtrack. [Hint: Keep his own tracks out.]

But truthfully, Kanan should have died a long time ago. Hope he dies in the first episode of the upcoming season. Hope Ghost's son shoots him.

Some have such a low esteem they create reasons to hate everyone else.

I agree with everybody who believes that Power is a really good show...not perfect, but really good. Many writers agree that Kanan must die. I agree with that too. His story-line is weak and not plausible. As far as being Golden Globe material, well, I think 50Cent took that honor off the table when he flashed his actual penis during a really ugly sex scene.

Power may never get a Golden Globe, even though "Tommy" deserves serious recognition. 50Cent is part of a really good show. Though the story-line may falter, Power is just as good as shows that are regularly being recognized on other TV award shows. The writing was not the best this season, and Kanan was a significant contributor that brought the show down. I don't see Kanan stepping into the drug ring because Milan is dead. The Kanan character is annoying to watch and not charismatic enough to take Power to the next level. Jamie looked weak and silly this past season and now he is in jail. It's Tommy's time now. I hope the writers have a new story-line in mind that does not include Kanan. Let 50Cent (the actor) Quit! That may improve Power's chances of winning an award.

tommy's character is ridiculous and too off the wall. you only think he deserves an award because you are racist, arent you? admit it.
ghost as a character is far more intriguing and complex. /smh

it's not just opinion, it's fact. it is YOUR opinion that tommy is a better character and actor, however your opinion is by statistical average, incorrect.

so basically your opinion is wrong. like some people's opinion is that hitler was right and did great things. that opinion is incorrect by a majority of the world.
some person might have the opinion that the world is flat. however that opinion is incorrect.

so yeah.
whatever your reason is for preferring tommy, your opinion of him being better in anyway is incorrect. at least by statistical percentage.
