I'm not mad about it being a DTV release. Sure, it would've been nice to finally see a Chucky film in theaters, I never got to see Bride or Seed in theaters and I was way too young to see the first three in theaters; I was only about only 6 months old, when the original came out in theaters, back in '88. I was only 2, when the second one came out, and I was only 3, when the 3rd one came out. I was 10 years old when 4th one was released. I remember my mother or my friend's mother mentioning Bride of Chucky and I was like "Cool, they made a 4th one" and when I saw it, I was pleased. It was a breath of fresh air from the first two sequels. I actually excepted Child's Play 4 to more like the first two sequels where Chucky would yet again go after another kid, maybe at an orphanage (that would've been too much of a rehash of the 2nd film) but I liked the "girlfriend becomes a doll, like him" storyline where they get married and go a "Bonnie and Clyde" type murder spree. Unfortunately, Seed wasn't that great! As a standalone film, it's alright; but as Chucky film, it fails. In fact, that film almost killed the franchise for good. I remember back in 2008, Mancini wanted to reboot the series. Had that happened, we would've never found out what happened to Andy after the 3rd film or his mother. I was so relieved when I heard that Curse was going to be a continuation and a return to its horror roots from the first three films, instead of the dark comedy route, it took in the last two films. I saw and it almost cried in tears when I saw Andy for the first time since the 3rd film! I hope in this one, he has a son or daughter and maybe a girlfriend or wife (Not DeSilva, maybe Kyle from the 2nd film, she was better than DeSilva from the 3rd one because she had more chemistry with Andy than DeSilva) I hope we also get a backstory to Chucky's childhood from the 60s and his later life in the 70s and 80s, before he meet Sarah and became a doll, like they did with Freddy Krueger in the 6th Elm Street film.
