I already forgot this show when I stumbled upon Wiki entry and remembered it again. I remember enjoying it but holy sh*t, two years for few episodes in 2017? Are these people insane?
I'd be really surprised if this show has a third season.
Apparently there is a conspiracy directed at me personally :-). All the shows I like are having delayed new seasons. The Expanse, Orphan Black, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones - all will start later and/or have fewer episodes in their next season.
I'm sorry innocent people are being caught up in this attack directed at me :-).
Well, its not 2 years, more like 14 months (season 1 premiered late November 2015, season 2 reportedly launches in January 2017)
Also, they increased the episode order for season 2 from 10 to 13 episodes, which is good :)

13 episodes is a too low number for the time they are taking to produce them.
They need to do filler episodes without fancy CGI where they do nothing but exposition or something. I'll be OK with this for ANY series out there, not just this.
At least more episodes keeps the interest alive. Right now I have lost all investment into characters, all emotional attachment gone because I hardly remember WTF happened at the end (something about disease then people going on a flight...?).
I am excited for season 2, but not as much as I would have been if it didn't take THIS long for it to air.
Roughly a year is the norm, that goes for every network. Especially noticeable for Netflix shows as they dump all episodes at once, and if you binge watch, more fool you as it'll be even longer to wait, hehe.
And no, they really dont need to do "filler" episodes. I prefer less and quality over a crap ton of mediocrity :)

Exposition doesn't mean less quality.
It'll help to give more depth to the world which they REALLY need right now. Most of the world feels artificial and half-arsed in these shows, for a good reason.
They are filling it out as they go along :)
Season 1 introduced us to the various factions (Earth, Mars, Belters), some rather shady individuals on various sides, some very scary goo of unknown origin, etc.
I didn't find it artificial or lacking. I do have many questions, yes, but that is what a good show should give the viewer (as long as it actually answers them at some point) :)
