Loved season 1. Was really stoked for season 2. Started watching episode 1. We get Martian grunts. We get Martian grunts talking about revenge and then we get a female grunt who is so freaking over the top, walking around with a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp. Had to switch off. Please tell me she and her co-grunts get killed off very, very soon. I thought this show was above tripe like that.

Cant say anything about her "co grunts", but she is going to be quite prominent going forwards.

the first episode was pretty disappointing to me as well, but the second one moves to the right direction... agree on everything you say... nothing like this was in the books, but i guess they wanted to create a prequel on to what will happen on Ganymede

Just like last season introduced Avasarala early (so that we'd get the Earth perspective), they introduced Bobby early this season so that we'd have some history before her book arc takes off.

Read my post, it was about a way OTT female grunt; over-acted and totally irritating. Caity Lotz plays p@ssed off and strong females that are believable characters and 3 dimensional. Scenery chewing characters - male or female are nothing but a PITA, especially on such an intelligent show as The Expanse.

The "problem" is the excessive grunting of "We are Martian (space) Marines!" which has been cornball in cinema since the movie "Aliens" (1986), ramped up in "Starship Troopers" (1997), "Avatar" (2009), ...and here we go...sigh...again...

I think they are going for maximum irony in Bobbie's future path (assuming things work out they way they do in the books). Perhaps they are laying it on a bit thick though.

I admit it was a little annoying, but if this is what made you turn it off, then maybe this show isn't for you. It's a shame you're gona miss out on an amazing story and visual experience for such a shallow reason.
