What do you all think? I read that the Bates Motel season finale hit a series low with viewers and that The Returned gained viewers with over 900,000 viewers, but slipped in its key demo.
Can someone clarify if it's true that A&E inked a deal with Netflix to keep this show going on for more seasons? The network has been very hush, hush in regards to BOTH Bates Motel and The Returned. It's rather worrisome.
There is a deal with Netflix for all countries besides USA and Canada, but Freemantle Media (co-producer of the show along with A&E) is the company that sold the overseas rights.
The promo for Damien that aired during Bates Motel made me feel that the Returned has less of a chance to come back, because the promo for Damien said coming 2016 and seems likely to air with Bates Motel.
Thanks for article. I guess there's still hope it'll remain on A&E, and I hope it does; I find it an intriguing idea, and now "Resurrection" is gone so I'll need something along these lines! Not great, IMO (many questions after most episodes), but still different and interesting.

Have you seen The 4400 (2004)?

I watched the original French version and really liked it but obviously not everyone can handle subtitles. Main problem with the French version is its been a long wait between series. I do also like this version and think it has enough tweaks to keep me watching both.
Ps notice that article has it wrong and says resurrection aired before the French version of the returned but while that may be true in the US it was actually made after Les Revenants.
I worked on The Returned and was hoping it would come back. It was announced locally that it was back, then last week it was then canceled. Bates will be back, it has a huge following. I was on that as well and look forward to working it again over the winter.
