Now that it's been cancelled, I've been curious about whether I should watch all ten episodes. If its simply a shot for shot remake that only deviates from the original show in minimal ways, I'll want to skip it because that would be a waste of my time. If it offers fresh elements to the table though and deviates to the point where it becomes its own thing, I'll want to check it out.

The French version was 8 episodes
The US version was 10. So id say about the first 7 episodes were shot for shot. For the most part.
Not seen this USA version but I assume with all the commercials taken out episodes are around 40-45 mins in length. The French episodes were 50-60 mins in length so it might balance out.

The second half changes the story quite a bit from the French series. I was dubious about watching this version because I enjoyed the French series so much, but I ended up thinking that this one was just as good, with an ending that might be better.
