Confused why it's on Netflix?

I noticed it's just been added to Netflix (in Canada anyways), but why would they bother if it only lasted one season? Or is Netflix taking over from A&E to produce more?

Netflix has had a lot of series added that are only one season.

In spite of the similarities with Resurrection, we find The Returned to have a much deeper and more intricate plot. So while Resurrection got weird and kinda boring, The Returned has us hooked. Hope there is a follow up season or two.

You can always watch season 2 of the original, that's if you don't mind subtitles. Going to do that after watching the import which so far is identical. Also on Netflix.

How long it lasted hardly matters, or do you think they should stop airing Firefly, which only lasted half a season?
