Should I watch this or the French version first?

Just finished watching French version. Wow!

One of the best TV shows I have seen.

Don't bother with the American version. The first half of the season was a blatant copy of the French, and the second half wasn't much better. Plus it got canceled anyways, so it ends on a cliffhanger.

Shows I've watched http://www.imdb.com/list/ls072583934/ Any suggestions?

I watch the first episode and you are right. Ditto copy. I found the French actors way better suited for their roles. The only actor/character I didn't like was Lucy.

Thankfully she didn't get too much screen time or she would have ruined the otherwise mystically mesmerising show for me.

I hated (the French) Lucy's chin!

Nice list you have there of shows you've watched! I went through seeing if there was anything I could suggest. The only shows that I didn't see on your list that I'd recommend are The Wire and Nurse Jackie.
I found a couple shows that I've never even heard of before on your list. You seem to have good taste because the shows that I absolutely love you gave high ratings. So, thanks! I'm going to check out The Bridge, Taken, and Luther! :) I am really stoked to check out Taken because Alien stuff genuinely creeps me out!

The American version took too long to pay up (it got quite interesting towards the last couple of episodes), but then ended on a cliffhanger. I think we were all left unsatisfied. Best to avoid it. 

I've got a remote and I'm not afraid to use it.

In the middle of the french show I think:
The american version is a mystery show about undead people on a mission, the french is much more about the living. Even events which occur in both shows almost the same way have a different vibe.

I am a bit worrying whether the european version can keep it up or gets entangled in its ambitions, where the clear cut mystery of the original would have allowed a straight-forward way to tell a story from beginning to end.
