I liked both the French original and the American version. I think if this had been picked up for a second season it would have taken a different storyline from the French version's second season.
Also the show is not entirely a direct copy of Les Revenants, the Returned diverges in several ways from the original.
I felt kind of cheated that both these shows were cancelled. The French version at least had a second season though.
I wonder if there's some legal "point" at which a show/movie has to go further than saying "based on" - but I don't recall "remake of," etc., ever appearing on the screen, come to think of it.
shareOf course there's no legal point, the show is an authorized remake, not a ripoff, if they wanted a different credit than "based on" that's going to be taken care of during negotiations. It's utterly bizarre that thinks something like this should be a legal matter.
