Why did Jimmy change his mind when he looked at Gretchems car?
Was there something in the car? why was there a piece of cloth in the gas tank?
shareWas there something in the car? why was there a piece of cloth in the gas tank?
shareI saw there was a cloth in the gas tank, I think he was genuinely concerned she was going to commit suicide.
shareI doubt that. The cloth in the gas tank was because she'd lost her gas cap and the rag would keep the gas from sloshing out. (Not really, since cars have an internal flap for just that reason.)
IMO, it was because he remembered how messed up he was and alike they were, so he didn't want to abandon her.
Of course, that is killing the show because now it is becoming more like a typical sitcom where everyone is growing up and moving on and becoming a good person....
They'll need to change the title of the show soon to, "You're not all that bad I guess."
Should they have broken up and reconciled 2 seasons later or never reconciled at all? Cuz people getting back together isnt a "typical sitcom" kind of situation.

Sam & Diane
Ross & Rachel
Lenard & Penny
Takes a very "special" type of person to think the Sopranos was a "sitcom."
sharejust applying your standard bruh
shareSam and Diane never get back together.
shareI like how the show is progressing. It is nothing like a typical sitcom, if it was like a typical sitcom every episode would end up being a variation of the "Sunday, Funday" episode. The show still has it's fun/funny moments, but adding a bit of drama to this series has added way more depth to the characters making it much more enjoyable to watch. As oppose to just watching a bunch of people being a group of *beep* every episode, If I wanted that I would just watch It's Sunny in Philadelphia.

It really does not. I those two statements actually back up the same idea. re-read it carefully and try to summon your inner either grade education.
also I do no think you understand what the meaning of "Sitcom" really is. This show is more of a Dark Comedy/Dramady
No, they really do contradict each other.
In season one, everyone was cr*ppy all of the time. Edgar was the only one who you could have any empathy for. Everyone else was a pile of feces. When it seemed like there might be a tender moment for a break-through or understanding, someone did something or acted like a piece of sh!t and it moved on.
In this season, we get to see why poor little Jimmy is like he is - his family was a bunch of azzes. Lindsay and Edgar are both growing up and starting to take responsibility for themselves. And we're now supposed to feel sorry for Gretchen because she's depressed - but wait! They've made a break through! She won't do jack-sh!t to get better, but "You stayed!" Awwwww.
That is the exact type of stuff that is done in every "typical sitcom" out there. This show, in the first season, WAS a dark comedy. There are few rules in those, other than "Don't do the same thing as in most 'typical sitcoms.'"
Instead of being a ja(k off and going for an insult when someone responds to your comment, take time to discuss it. Even a douche-bag like you might learn something.
If it didn't move past the first season shtick it would just be it's always sunny in cali.
shareIt's about as far from being a "typical" sitcom as a comedy can get. It's obvious you want it to be like season 1 when it WAS a typical "edgy" comedy like It's Always Sunny. They get drunk act like a holes treat everyone around them and each other like crap binge purge repeat.
That was amusing but It's Always Sunny and The Trailer Park Boys did it first and better. It's hilarious you whine about it becoming like other sitcoms when that's EXACTLY what you want.

We won't miss you. Byeeees
shareIt looks like there was a cock and a "suck it" scrawled in the dirt on the window, and obviously the rag sticking out of the tank. It aslo looked like something hit the little rear glass on the back of the door... maybe someone punched it?
I can't really say what Jimmy "identified" with there. I will say this ep had me misguessing twice tho! The first was near the beginning when it looked as if the redhead had gone all hari kari and the second when the rag was sticking out... just as jimmy was lighting his analog cig.
In both cases I was thinking that the WORST was going to happen, but then it didn't. It's one thing to be cliché and stick to your own setup of these a$$holes being the worst, but it's even more of a let down when you don't even hold your show up to the standards you have set, which were minimal... where we liked them.
A suicide would have wrapped up her storyline nicely... I mean what are they talk about next? Their feelings?
AND a "burning" of the car and the probably subsequently, the house after the explosion from the gas tank, would represent Jimmy coming to terms with the fact that he has a sh!t life now since he can't sell anything with his words printed on it, his family is a hideous british joke, and now his girlfriend has turned on him for being... nice to her.
Now AFTER ALL OF THAT, THEN THEY MADE UP... well, then maybe I could see it. For them, all of these acts of being the worst would have them seeing that they were really made for each other... but in their own little way.
(and no... he wouldn't be trying to "murder" her, but she would have seen that he is just as fkkd up as she is via his act of being the WORST that she would have flipped that switch back to the somewhat sane understanding that he needs help too!)
Now... is that the fkking worst?!? Or what? A little consistency would be nice once in awhile. lol
