That finale scene <3
The final scene on the stairs, when Gretchen & Jimmy shared a cigarette was perfect. You could just see how happy and full and present Gretchen felt (after so many eps of her being empty and distant) and then when Jimmy realized he had told her he loved her, and then realized he actually meant it.
I thought it was the perfect scene for these two characters to have told each other they loved each other for the first time. It felt very much like "them," it felt honest, it was sweet and touching but not overly saccharine or cheesy.
I'm very excited for season 3. I'm in the camp of having loved this season, found it still very funny, and thought the depression story was incredibly well done and worthwhile, but I'm looking forward to the 3rd season being able to tackle new challenges for this couple in perhaps a more lively and energetic way than the latter half of this season. I think there could be great comedic fodder in Gretchen seeing a therapist, if they add that. If not, the trials and tribulations of this messy couple who have now fully realized and confessed their love, and having never been in such a place before, is bound to bring good fun.
