Anyone else notice that Edgar is almost the same character as Todd on Bojack Horseman?
shareI just got into Bojack recently and also noticed the similarities between the shows. Both main characters own very nice houses in the LA hills that were funded by squandered talent. Both are bitter in the realization that they peaked years ago. Both have poor relationships with their abusive fathers. Mr. Peanutbutter and Vernon are similar dudebro kind of guys with hidden financial troubles.
Not that either is copying the other, but they are both dark comedies that share a lot of themes.

Wow. I can't believe I never made this connection! I love both of these shows and they do have some similar themes - including a main character with major depression.
